Building Permits
It shall be unlawful for any person to commence the construction of any building or the plumbing (including gas work) or electrical wiring of any building or the re-plumbing or re-wiring of any building within the city without having first obtained from the city a building permit.
The permit and inspection fees prescribed in the building code are deleted, and the following sentence inserted: “For the issuance of a building permit and the inspection to be made by the building inspector of the city, such person shall pay to the city a fee of twelve dollars and fifty cents ($12.50), plus the sum of fifteen cents ($0.15) per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of the contract price of such construction or plumbing. The gas permit and inspection fee shall be three dollars ($3.00).
The following codes, current edition, are hereby adopted by reference as though they were copied herein fully:
Any matter in such codes which are contrary to any existing ordinance of the city shall prevail and, to that extent any such existing ordinance to the contrary is hereby repealed in that respect only.
Within such codes when reference is made to the duties of certain officials named therein that designated official in the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in such codes shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of such codes are concerned.
