The City of Opp currently offers property for both retail and industrial development. The planning commission is authorized and empowered to make and adopt a Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the city, including any areas outside its boundaries which, in the commission’s judgment, bear relation to the planning of the City of Opp. Such plan, with the accompanying maps, plats, charts and descriptive matter, shall show the commission’s recommendations for the development of such territory, including among other things the general location, character, and extent of streets, playgrounds, parks, and other public ways, grounds and open spaces, the general location of public buildings and other public property, and the general location and extent of public utilities and terminals, whether publicly or privately owned or operated, for water, light, sanitation, transportation, communication, power, and other purposes; also the removal, relocation, widening, narrowing, vacating, abandonment, change of use or extension of any of the foregoing ways, grounds, open spaces, buildings, property, utilities, or terminals as well as a zoning plan for the control of the height, area, bulk, location and use of the buildings and premises.<\/p>

The Planning Board is hereby authorized and empowered to exercise all powers and do all things authorized to such Planning Board by section 11-52-6 et seq., Code of Alabama 1975, as amended, as it may deem necessary for its work. It shall be unlawful for any person to commence the construction of any building or the plumbing (including gas work) or electrical wiring of any building or the re-plumbing of any building or re-wiring of any building within the city without having first obtained from the city a building permit.<\/p>

The permit and inspection fees prescribed in the building code are deleted, and the following sentence inserted: “For the issuance of a building permit and the inspection to be made by the building inspector of the city, such person shall pay to the city a fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) for the first $1,000.00, plus the sum of $4.50 for each additional $1,000.00 of the contract price for construction or plumbing.\u00a0 Electrical permits are a minimum of $50.00 for a 200 amp service, and increase as the number of amps increase.”<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
