Parks and Recreation
The Parks and Recreation office is located at 1000 Cameron Road and can be reached by calling (334) 493-7970.
It is the goal of the Department of Recreation to provide the children of Opp with the highest quality of recreation. The Department of Recreation offers facilities and programs for children of all ages to enjoy. These facilities and programs offer competition, exercise, and relaxation for kids and families of all ages to enjoy. Our activities are seasonal beginning with Baseball/Softball in February, Football/Cheerleading in August, Soccer in September, and Basketball in December.

These facilities and Parks are great for sporting events, birthday parties, and other social gatherings.
Opp Sports Complex - Cameron Road
This facility includes Baseball Fields, Softball Fields, Tennis Courts, and Walking Trail.
Our Swimming Pools are located at Harden St. Complex at the corner of Mullin St. and Harden St. and Veterns Memorial Park at the corner of Park Ave. and Whaley St. The swimming pools offers a safe and relaxing atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. There will be 4 highly trained Lifeguards and 1 Pool Manager present at all times.
The cost is $1.00 per day.
The Pools open on the Tuesday following Memorial Day. Pool hours are from 10:00am – 12:00pm and from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Monday-Friday, Saturday 1:00pm-4:00pm Closed on Sundays.

Swimming lessons begin in June and are free to anyone wishing to conquer the art of swimming. There will be 4 highly trained lifeguards, along with the pool manager, assisting each student in overcoming the fear of water while teaching the basics of swimming and water survival skills. Knowing how to swim will better allow them to enjoy water sports and take care of themselves and others while in the water.
Barnes St. Complex
This complex is located at 775 Barnes Street.
The Stadium is located at 500 N. Brantley Street.
Frank Jackson State Park
The Park entrance is located at 100 Jerry Adams Dr.
This 2,050-acre park is proud to serve as a premier fishing destination with its 1,000-acre stream-fed lake. As the primary park attraction, Lake Jackson, in addition to providing outstanding fishing and swimming opportunities, also features shoreline picnic areas. Additionally, lakefront RV camping sites with cable TV hookups and a modern bathhouse make it a great camping destination. There is also a natural island with a boardwalk and walking path.
